What is Search & Teach®?
Search & Teach© is an early intervention program developed to meet the educational needs of young children before they experience the frustration of learning failure.
SEARCH is an individual test designed to identify 5 and 6-year-olds who are vulnerable to learning difficulty. It provides a profile of individual strengths and weaknesses in readiness skills, which are necessary for reading success.
TEACH is a program of 55 learning activities carefully designed to address the needs revealed by a SEARCH screening. TEACH is offered to individuals in a one-on-one setting, allowing the child to move through tasks at the rate of their own development.
Students receive two 45 minute sessions per week, or three 30 minute sessions. For rates, please inquire at 571 336-2384.
“The strength of SEARCH & TEACH is in early intervention. This twofold approach offers educators an effective tool for catching learning disorders at the beginning of a child’s academic career, before the downward spiral of failure begins. With proper and timely identification and intervention, many children can be spared the lifelong consequences of learning disorders.” Rosa A. Hagin, Ph.D
SEARCH & TEACH was unanimously approved by the Joint Dissemination Review Panel of the Interdisciplinary Model for national validation. The JDRP has supported the Search & Teach program for over 30 years. It has been implemented throughout the U.S. in various schools and clinical settings.
