Welcome! I am so glad you’re here!
For parents of children who struggle to learn, finding effective intervention is important.
With over 25 years of experience as an NILD Educational Therapist, my passion is to help struggling students learn how to learn. I design a program tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. Intervention is intensive, individual and interactive.
The learning process is complex, but brain research reveals the neuroplasticity of the brain. The brain has great potential for growth and change. Intervention at Not Just Tutoring targets learning systems to stimulate the brain to make new connections. My goal is to help your child grow into a confident, competent, independent learner.
What We Do
At Not Just Tutoring, we help students succeed in education and life.
We design a program centered on strengthening weaknesses and deficits. Traditional tutoring and even many in-school programs don’t get to the root of the problem.
We provide effective educational intervention to nurture success for students, using brain-based techniques that were developed according to educational research. We specialize in working with students who are falling behind grade level. We work with public, private and home-schooled students.
We engage students in intentional, direct, explicit intervention based on individual assessments and observed student weaknesses. A program is designed to increase student success so they can become independent learners.
We specialize in working with students who have weaknesses or learning disabilities in:
- Visual Processing
- Auditory Processing
- Visual-Motor Integration
- Spatial Relations
- Abstract/Logical Thinking
- Oral Expression
- Reading (decoding, phonemic awareness, phonological processing, comprehension)
- Writing (handwriting, written expression)
- Math Computation and Application
